Monday 11 July 2011 - Results week ending 10th July

At Boat of Garten on Saturday the men competed for the Craiggowrie Cup, a bogey competition.  Despite the heavy, wet conditions scoring was good and resulted in a CSS of 68. Playing in the first group Alan Walker (9) set the pace on +2, soon matched by Alan Boxx (11) and David Housby (6).  However Sandy Macadam (15) and Jim McPhee (17) both finished on +3 with McPhee taking the trophy with a better inward half.

In the Ladies’ monthly medal, there was a close finish in the Bronze Section where Shona Fielding (23) and Anne McSherry (31) finished level on 68 with McSherry taking the prize on countback. Both earned a cut in handicap. Both were well clear of 3rd place Lorraine MacPherson (27) on 73. In the Silver Section Ann Weller (19) won the medal with 73, ahead of Ladies’ Captain Margaret Thompson (18) 76 and Peasha Ingram (12) a further 3 back.
