




Alan originally hails from Thurso where he began his greenkeeping career
before moving on to Deeside Golf Club in Aberdeen. He joined the staff at
the Boat in 1990 and was appointed Head Greenkeeper in 1993. A family man,
Alan is a keen snowboarder and lists golf and mountain-biking as his other interests.
Darren was born and raised in Aviemore and came to the Club as an apprentice
greenkeeper in 2002. He gained his qualifications over the next 4 years and was
promoted to First Assistant Greenkeeper in 2007. As well as playing off a
single-figure handicap, he is also a very able footballer and a keen skier.
Frank is a native of Rossendale, Lancashire and a qualified aero engineer who worked for
Lucas Aerospace until moving to the village with his wife and family in 1986. Frank joined the
staff in 1999 and is our technical wizard (probably knowing more about our course machinery than
the manufacturers....). Frank also enjoys snowboarding, skiing, sailing, canoeing and motorsport.
Mark joined the team in 2001.
He is originally from Wishaw and is married with two sons.
He enjoys golf, travelling and working in the Clubhouse Bar.
Scott is 22 y.o. and originally from Erskine, in Renfrewshire. He moved to the Highlands
in March 2007, now stays in Dulnain Bridge and at over 6' he's not difficult to spot in a crowd.
He has been a part of the team at the Boat since 2007 and lists his hobbies as cars and motorbikes.
Debbie took up her post at the Boat in 2007 and has quickly proved to be blessed
with patience, an excellent memory, good IT skills and a cheerful, sunny disposition. Local girl
Debbie is married with a 10 y.o. son and when she's not running a taxi service for him she enjoys
golf, swimming, gardening and listening to good music.
Nigel was appointed in 2005 and succeeded Paddy Smyth to a post with a tradition of long-serving Secretaries. A resident of Aviemore for 35 years, his family is from Kincardineshire and his background is in the hospitality industry. Outside golf, his interests are skiing, hill-walking, mountain-biking and modern jazz.
