After a month of highly competitive individual medal competitions at Boat of Garten, on Saturday the men paired up to compete for the SGU Greensomes Trophy.

Early starters Steve Rooney and Andy Grigor (11.8) set the pace with 67.2 but were quickly overhauled by Ian Turner and Bobby Davidson (14.4) who stormed home with 60.6 and ultimately a clear win by 5 strokes. In the last group out, father and son team John and Shaun MacBean (9.4) came closest finishing with 65.6 but had to settle for 2nd place. The chasing pack was led by Kenny MacDonald and Chris Helik (7) and Steven Thomas and Martin Hendry (10), who both returned 68.  However, despite the ideal conditions and good scoring, the Turner/Davidson partnership was not to be denied the trophy.
