Probably the most inviting prospect on the course. Indeed, James Braid placed it even higher than that in terms of aesthetics; he said “The 12th hole is in a superb setting, the birch woods and the mountains beyond; I don't think there is any equals it.” On many days it is also largely free of golfing guile.
